About the game
Penalty Champion is a casino game that consists of a grid of 25 tiles concealing either goals or saves. It’s the big final and all eyes are on you, can you go all the way and take home the big prize!
With every goal you score, your total winnings increase. You may cash out the winnings after each goal scored, but if you hit a ‘Save’, the goalie saves your ball, and all progress is lost. You can set the number of saves on the grid between 1 and 24, the more saves the higher the risk.
You decide how long to stay in the game – cash out after one goal or risk it all for a chance at the big payout. Good luck!
Game panel
Balance
This displays the total balance.
Bet value
This displays the value of the current bet. Choose how much you want to bet on each round by pressing the – or + button. You can also choose the minimum or the maximum bet value by clicking the respective buttons. If you press play without having selected bet value and number of saves the game will either start with the default values, or your selected values from the previous game round.
Number of saves
This displays the number of saves on the grid. Use the – or + button to set an amount between 1 and 24. The amounts available are 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 10, 17, 20 and 24. You can also choose the minimum or the maximum amount by clicking the respective buttons.
Play
Press the play button to start the game.
Cash out
Once the game round has started, the play button turns into the cash out button. Press this button to end the round. After each successful goal, the button will display the total win if you choose to cash out at that time.
Random Tile
The button with the intertwining arrows icon, is the Random Tile button. Pressing this button reveals a randomly chosen tile on the board.
Treasure boost
This icon lights up to indicate when the TreasureBoost feature is active. Click on the icon to access a tutorial on the feature.
Win field
When the game round ends with a cash out, the total win is indicated in the chosen currency.
How to play
Start the game
Start by setting bet value and choosing number of saves between 1 and 24. The maximum potential win for the chosen combination of bet value and number of saves will be indicated on the bottom of the game panel.
Cash out any time
There are goals and saves under the tiles. Click on any tile to score a goal, and with each goal scored your total winnings increase. You can cash out after a successful reveal or choose to stay in the game. The cash out button will indicate the current payout if you choose to finish the round.
Beware the saves
If you reveal a save, the goalie blocks the ball, and your progress thus far is lost. The game ends and you can start over.
Mechanics of the game
The following sections explain the underlying mechanics of the game. The base of all mine games is that there are TREASURES and MINES. Treasures award a multiplier to the player’s bet, while mines result in the player’s loss of the bet. In Penalty Champion the treasures are represented by goals and the mines are represented by saves (glove). However, in these following sections we retain the terminology TREASURE and MINE to explain the underlying mechanics.
Treasure boost feature
TreasureBoost is an automatic, random feature that increases the players’ chance of revealing a treasure as opposed to a mine. This increased chance of revealing a treasure is not a fixed amount that is simply applied whenever the feature is active. The level of increased chance will vary, based on the current status of the ongoing game round.
When the number of mines is set to 3, 5, 7, 10, 17 or 20, the TreasureBoost icon lights up indicating that the feature is active. This means that for the upcoming round the number of mines on the field remain unchanged, but the odds of revealing a treasure are higher than normal.

If the player clicks a tile that without the TreasureBoost feature would have revealed a mine, but now reveals a treasure, this is indicated with a tag.
Paytable
Penalty Champion is a game where payout is determined by a bet multiplier that grows with each successful move. The grid is not predetermined, therefore the choice of tile to be revealed does not affect the outcome of the game. Each choice of tile will produce a random result that does not take into account the positions of the tiles. It calculates a result, goals or saves, only based on the total number of saves on the grid and the current bet multiplier.
The two factors determining the bet multiplier are the number of successfully scored goals, and the total number of saves on the grid. The number of saves available to choose are 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 10, 17, 20 and 24. Below are tables for each possible combination of saves and successfully scored goals and their corresponding bet multipliers.
